Grand Prairie has been a functioning London based country rock band since 1985, formed largely by session players from the early 1970’s. It is centred around vocalist Jenny Ormonde (accordion, harmonica & flute) and her partner Rob Wilson (bass, vocals), Mick O’Donnell (guitar, vocals), Peter Terry (keyboards), Dave Haywood (pedal steel) and Ian Ryan ( drums). Although the band are predominantly a stand alone act, they have also been used to back other performers including George Melly, Westlife’s Brian McFadden and Charley Pride ( in the USA).
Grand Prairie have made almost 30 trips to the USA and have performed on bills with the likes of Alabama, Clint Black, Trace Atkins & Diana Ross. The band have performed coast to coast in the USA from California including Monterey, San Diego, Arizona, Vegas, to name a few. They play to return in the future.
